Shimmilicious© Award & Shimmilicious© Troupe 2010!
Chosen from among the winning dancers in each category, the dancer and troupe with the most overall points will be declared BDNC's Shimmilicious© 2010! You have won your division! Now you have proven that you are the Shimmilicious© in the bunch. This award recognizes the artists who have put their creativity, energy, artistry, and love into an artistic presentation on stage!
PRIZES: Trophy, Marketing Package consisting of a dedicated webpage on the Belly Dance Nationals Competition website and promotional folder of marketing materials, DVD of The BDNC event. JUDGES: The Judging Panel. Your overall points will be calculated and the solo dancer and troupe with the highest number of overall points will win the Shimmilicious© Award 2010.
2010 People's Choice Award
What do the judges know? This award is chosen by your audience and will go to the dancer or troupe they love most!

2010 Josephine Baker Theatrical Award
This category is for the most theatrical and entertaining presentation in the entire competition! This award is not just for the technically proficient dancer(s), but for the performance which most moves us, with specific attention given to entertainment value.

The 2010 Jewel of the Nile Lifetime Achievement Award

Nominations by prior submission only. Are you or someone you know a survivor, artist, dancer, educator, volunteer, service worker, professional, exceptional parent/guardian, mentor, or achiever in our dance community? Has this person made a significant and positive change in your dance life? The Jewel of the Nile Award is for the individual that has risen above the challenges and adversities of life, yet strives to Pay-It-Forward (Definition: the act of voluntarily helping another without expectation of payback). Please submit a short essay of 600 words or less telling us why you think your person should be nominated for the Award. Include examples of their inspiration, activities, achievements, creativity, imagination, innovation, and/or survival. Nominate the most inspirational contestant or person in your life who most inspires others and yes, you may nominate yourself. PRIZES: Achievement Trophy. JUDGES: The NDC
